Guest House Insurance from Warrings provides an array of protections for guest houses of all sizes

It is our aim to provide a comprehensive guest house insurance package at the most economical cost to meet the demands and needs of the guest house business.

Guest house insurance policies generally include a number of variations to a standard domestic household insurance policy which will protect both the guest house owner and their guests.

As well as a number of standard risks that are generally catered for, we can offer additional flexibility with added benefits which you may choose to take out, in this way we are able to tailor your guest house insurances to your needs. In additional we are also able to offer the flexibility of payment options including a monthly payment plan for premiums. This assists in helping guest house owners to manage their cash flow in what is generally a seasonal trade by spreading payments over a number of months.

Warrings Guest House Insurance policies feature a standard set of benefits including:

Guest House Employers' Liability Cover

If you employ staff it is a mandatory requirement for guest house owners to carry Employer’s Liability Insurance. This covers hotel employers in the event their employees are injured in the course of their work through the negligence of the guest house business. Warrings standard cover provides for £10,000,000 indemnity or £5,000,000 if the loss arises from terrorism.

Guest House Public Liability

All guest house businesses have almost constant direct contact with the general public and other third parties who frequent the guest house. It is therefore a legal requirement for guest house to hold Public Liability Insurance. Public Liability insurance for guesthouses provides protection for the general public and any other third party if they are injured or if they suffer property damage as a result of the guesthouse business’ negligence during the course or conduct of its business, up to £2,000,000

Money and Personal Assault

This can cover cash held on and off the premises, cheques and postal orders kept at the premises during and outside of business hours which may be stolen or damaged. This aspect of the policy is subject to certain limits but is effective in circumstances such as an assault, money that has been lost in transit as a result of an assault or at the home of one of the guest house employees.

Glass (repairs or replacement)

This normally provides cover in the event of breakage or damage to the glass in the guesthouse’s windows and doors. It can also provide insurance cover for door frames, window and door signs, display boards and guesthouse reception counters.

Buildings Insurance

This cover provides protection for the main property building and any outside buildings including walls, gates and fences against standard risks and perils. Generally all policies cover buildings on a 'new for old' basis. It is advisable to consider taking out a combined policy for a guesthouse which includes cover for buildings insurance rather than insuring through separate arrangements.

Business Interruption

A catastrophic event like a fire or flooding would cause a tremendous amount of disruption to a guesthouse business, leading to a potential major loss of income. Business interruption insurance for guest houses provides necessary protection for trading profits in the 24 month period following an event, if you are unable to continue in business and let out rooms during the reparation period.

Property Damage (Contents Insurance)

This covers the contents of the guesthouse including the kitchen equipment, any computers, tables and chairs, other machinery, room furnishings and other items that are fundamental to running the guesthouse. This important aspect of the Warrings guesthouse insurance provides the vital protection required against loss or damage to the contents of the guesthouse caused by fire, theft or accidental damage. Own Personal Contents

Many guesthouses contain the private quarters of the guest house owner. Cover can be provided to include owners contents and valuables, including furniture, jewellery, money against damage or loss.

Stock

It is sensible to insure your stock like foodstuffs against standard risks. Your guesthouse might also have a licensed bar which requires insurance cover for a stock of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages kept on the premises. Goods in Transit

This provides £2,500 of protection for Goods in Transit against loss or damage by you or your employees or a third party. Higher sums can be insured if necessary.

Warrings can arrange additional insurance cover for guesthouses as required:

All Risks

As an option Warrings are able to provide a quotation for ‘All Risks’ insurance and this provides optimum levels of cover across a wider spectrum of risks. If you are interested in taking out an ‘All Risks’ policy, please ask your account manager and they will provide full details of the additional cover available for hotels.

Terrorism

As an optional extra we can also provide safeguards against the damage or effects caused by an act of terrorism.

The descriptions above represent very brief summaries of the cover provided under the Warrings guest house insurance package. They do not constitute any protection afforded under a policy of insurance provided by Warrings and cannot be interpreted as providing any such evidence of insurance. These summaries do not contain the full terms and conditions of cover under any insurance product provided by Warrings and therefore should not be relied upon to be representative of the cover within a policy or contract of insurance.
